  • We are a Growing Utility Contracting Company seeks the following:

    · Experienced Lineman to lead an Aerial crew

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred

    • Previous experience in standard and high-risk areas a preferred

    • Experienced in Aerial fiber and coax construction
    • Previous experience in operating a T-40 or equivalent preferred
    • Knowledge of Aerial telecommunications strand, cable and fiber placement
    • General knowledge of Aerial strand, cable and fiber construction practices
    • Must be able to read and understand HFC, Frontier, AT&T and PG&E design prints
    • Must possess a valid Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus but is not required
    • Ability to work in various environments/settings with moderate to loud noise levels
    • Capable of working at heights up to 60ft above the ground
    • Prepared to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach and lift for long periods of time
    • Able to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted
    • Capable to use full-range of motion in fingers, hand and wrists to operate necessary tools/equipment

    · Maintains company equipment per safety guidelines and manufacture specifications

    · Willing to work outside in varying weather conditions

    · Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Must have a valid driver license with no major tickets in past 3 years, be able to pass a background check and drug test

  • This position assists with the construction, installation, and maintenance of aerial, fiber, and coaxial line projects.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    2 Years of experience working in heights off of hooks/Bucket Truck.

    2 Years of experience Pulling Fiber, Coaxial Cable and Copper, Moving a lasher and Setting/Recking out Utility Poles.

    Install, maintain, repair, and upgrade aerial and underground telecommunications cable per the applicable specifications and quality and safety standards
    Inspect and test CATV, coax, and fiber
    Dig holes and assist in setting poles and anchors
    Drive and operate line vehicles and station them properly for the work to be done
    Adhere to all safety requirements and procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
    Organize materials and basic hand tools necessary to complete project requirements
    Complete all required Company documentation; maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment inspections
    Other duties as assigned
    Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

    Education: High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.), or related trade school education

    Experience:

    One year of wireline telecommunications industry experience
    One year of coax, aerial, and fiber construction experience
    One year of pole climbing experience, preferred
    Ability to operate a bucket truck
    Knowledge of relevant regulations and codes
    Knowledge of highway traffic control standards

    Technical Skills:

    Ability to use hand tools
    Ability to operate a lasher
    Basic ability to frame poles and place strand

    Soft Skills:

    Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    Strong verbal communication skills
    Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and ensure that work is completed within the established timeframes

    Physical Requirements:

    Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
    Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
    Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 75 lbs.; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes
    Ability to work in various settings with moderate to loud noise levels
    Ability to climb and work at heights
    Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
    Ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
    May be required to work long and unpredictable hours

    • Operate chain saws, pruners, brush chippers, and climb trees using climbing equipment.

    • Work on circuit grids that consist of cabling networks, copper, coaxial cable, Electrical circuits and Fiber Optics with Blueprints from Frontier, PG&E and AT&T.

    • Gain experience with fiber optics, team building, OSHA safety standards, cable and internet systems

    • Cut down trees using appropriate notches, hinges, and wedges.

    • Work with ropes and pulleys.

    • Learned about OSHA laws and work safety.

    • Maintain a valid CDL for driving various company trucks

    • Disconnect and connect Cable Lines using proper PPE.

    • Re-Certify and have current first aid and CPR certificates.

    • Card, cpr certify, also ehap certified.Skills UsedProper safety.

    • Receive and complete safety training for working around bucket trucks and Digger Derricks.

    • Cut trenches for laying underground cables, using trenchers and cable plows.

    • Operate and maintain machinery used in tree work, such as brush chippers, chainsaws, and leaf blowers.

    • Sledgehammer, wire cutters, bolt cutters, chain hoists, line grips, open and close end wrenches.

    • General yard maintenance includes lawn mowing and fertilization, weed, wedge and tree trimming, leaf raking and bagging.

    This role requires physical stamina, the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions around but not limited to snakes, spiders, bears, mountain lions etc.
